Asus Zenfone 5 (16GB)

Are you planning to buy a new smartphone but are just simply confused in the already over-crowded options? Well, we have compiled our list of the best five Android smartphones 2015 that are available in the market. Read our reviews and make your decision based on our expert advice.

Yu Yureka

Micromax's Yu YurekaWhen the Yu Yureka was first announced, I have to admit, I was simply blown away by the specifications (and price); and the Cyanogen OS was like a cherry on the cake. The processor on this mean machine is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon with a cool 2GB RAM. The 5.5 inch display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and a screen resolution of 267ppi (pixels per inch). The 13MP back camera is very efficient and the front 5MP camera is great for selfies. The phone has an expandable memory and an internal memory of 16GB. My only qualm with this phone would be with its 2500mAH Li-ion battery because the 5.5 inch display does suck out all the juice pretty quick.

Asus Zenfone 5 (16GB)

Asus Zenfone 5 (16GB)Asus was a bit late to enter the smartphone industry and was considered a bit of an underdog. But ever since it launched its Zenfone series, it proved that if you have the right product at just the right price, you can leave behind any competition. The Asus Zenfone 5 runs on a 1.6 GHz Intel processor with a respectable 2GB RAM. The 5 inch display is slightly smaller on the Asus as compared to the Yureka, but the HD screen does pack in more pixels, 294ppi to be precise. This too has Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is more than adequate protection against scratches. The phone comes in two storage variants i.e. 8GB and 16GB. The phone runs on KitKat with the ZenUI skin and the maker has announced that it will soon release a Lollipop updates. The phone has a 8MP primary camera and a 2MP front camera. Sadly, this phone too has a disappointing battery which is 2110mAH Li-ion.

Moto E (2nd Gen)

Under Google, Motorola began its innings in India with a bang. Its strategic partnership with Flipkart not only set the ball rolling for the company but for many others too. Moto E (1st Gen) was an instant hit amongst the youth; it was truly a game changer for everyone. Now into its 2nd generation the phone has improved a lot. The 4.5 inch display is not HD but it does have a resolution of 245ppi. The device’s heart is a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon with only 1GB of RAM. The phone comes with the latest version of Android (Lollipop) straight-out-of-the-box. The 5MP back camera leaves a lot to be desired from and the front 0.3MP front camera is even embarrassing to write about. After the Android Lollipop version, the other saving grace to the phone would be its 2390mAH Li-ion.

Xiaomi Redmi Note

Redmi-Note

As you already know, Xiaomi is China’s answer to Apple. It became synonymous with flash-sales and selling all its devices in a matter of seconds comes naturally to them now. The Redmi Note was highly anticipated and it certainly did not disappoint its fans here in India. The quad-core 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon with its 2GB of RAM delivers the best performance. The 5.5 inch display has a 267ppi resolution, which is pretty decent for a sub Rs.10K phone. The front 13MP camera takes amazingly clear shots and the front 5MP is not bad either. The other thing I love about this phone is the 3100mAH Li-ion battery and I am glad someone finally addressed this issue. The build of this phone is pretty solid too.

Lenovo A7000

One of Lenovo’s most recent offering, via flash-sale, is the Lenovo A7000. For a sub Rs.10K Android phone, it will certainly gives the high-end models a run for their money. The phone’s OS is Android Lollipop with Lenovo’s Vibe UI 3.0 skin. The phone has a very powerful octa-core 1.5GHz MediaTek processor and a 2GB RAM. All the benchmarks released by the company state it to be at par, if not better, with all the flagship phones of its rivals including the Samsung Galaxy S5. The screen on this bad boy is 5.5 inches is fully HD with a resolution of 267ppi. The back snapper on the Lenovo A7000 is 8MP while the front is 5MP. The battery on this phone is 2900mAH and will last you the whole day. Also the phone comes with the Dolby ATMOS feature which improves the sound experience of all your multimedia files.
