Liquid Z530 Vs Liquid Z630s

Acer, the famousPC manufacturer from Taiwan has now stepped into the world of smartphones with two new beauties, Liquid Z530 and Z630s. Designed for budget buyers, both smartphones pack a strong set of specs, and ship with the sole commitment to provide a good user experience at a tempting price bracket. They both unify an exemplary set of features with a design that looks very distinctive and sassy in the budget as well as in mid-range category.

While there are some noticeable differences between Liquid Z530 and Z360s, their prices have created some serious competition in the highly competitive budget smartphone market. Renowned players have been eager to push Acer off the edge, but the company has got a good head start, and would probably make it to the top in next few years. So, for those who’re planning on investing their money in Acer, here are the key differences between the Z530 and Z360 shipping just inside the 10k mark!

Design and Form-factor

As far as look and feel is concerned, Acer Liquid Z530 and Z630s both flaunt a nice design, and create a strong impression against famous budget players. The more affordable Z530 features a 5-inch display with brushed plastic back and curved edges. Its rear panel gives a nice grip while carrying around and sports a good looking camera module, aligned with DTS powered speaker grill placed right at the bottom. It weighs around 145 gramson paper, and tips on the scale at just 8.9mm.

On the contrary, it’s elder sibling, the Z630s looks bit bigger but feels pretty sturdy and unique. The phone’s made from plastic, but has more of the Samsung Galaxy S3 feel with pebble-like design, rounded edges and sloping lines adding to the aesthetics. It features a gold line running along the edges, and gives a firm grip with rarely seen brushed metal finish. It’s a little heavier than Z530, but the thickness is exactly the same, even after housing a much bigger battery!

Display

Apart from screen-size, there is not much difference between the display of Acer Liquid Z530 and Z360s. Both phones feature an HD IPS panel, and give a nice visual experience with rich colours and decent contrast levels.Acer’sLumiflex technology ensures good sunlight visibility outdoors, and protection from Ashahi’s Dragontrail glass ensures top-tier protection from scratches. On whole, both phonescreate an ideal ecosystem for seamless entertainment. It’s just, the Z530 endows more pixel density than the 5.5-incher display of the Z630s!

Hardware and Processing

The biggest difference between Acer Liquid Z530 and Z630 comes from their hardware. The Liquid Z530, at the first place, boasts off a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC tickling at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. The phone packs seamless performance, and takes a dig right against the most favourite Redmi 2 Prime.

On the contrary, its elder sibling the Z360s packs more power with an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset coupled with 3GB of DDR3 RAM. It endows enormous power for nonstop work and play, and creates an ideal ecosystem for buttery smooth and lag-free performance. So, you’ll the latest from MediaTek with both phones, but with Z360, you’ll get enhanced performance with eights cores and 3 gigs of RAM.

Software and OS

While most smartphone manufacturers are offering their own custom skins, Acer has given the taste of Vanilla Android with both Liquid Z350 and Z360s. Both phones run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the box, and deliver slick performance with only few customized elements. It is a good thing that Acer offers stock Android experience with a simplifiedUI, but it’s really annoying that there are tons of apps on-board.Acer’s proprietary apps such as,abFiles, abPhoto,abMusic, Acer Aid Kit, Acer Care Center, and Acer Suggests eat up more than 3GB of precious inbuilt storage with no real benefit to the user!

Camera

While there is no major difference, you can expect a decent photography experience with both phones. The 8-megapixel rear camera of both phones delivers good quality images in daylight but fails to impress under lowlight or indoor environments. It’s good enough to cater standard user requirements, but if you’re a dedicated photographer, it’s definitely not worthy for the price. Theshutter speed is low, and the image produced lacks detailing as well!

On the contrary, their 8MP front-facing snappers are too good for selfie-freaks. They produce vibrant images and are probably the best in the sub-10kcategory.

Battery

Another big difference between the two phones comes from their power support. Despite featuring identical thickness, Acer Liquid Z360s houses a much bigger 4000 mAh battery. The phone powers up humongous battery, and offers a lot more juice than Z350, which accommodates a very small 2400 mAh battery. It offers full support to the display, and gives more than one and half day of normal usage with few calls, games, and video playback.

The Z350 also makes a strong impression, but Acer could have given a better package with enhanced battery capacity or at least reduced thickness!

Price

Currently, Acer’s liquid series is hitting the shelves via renowned ecommerce portal Flipkart.com. The Acer Liquid Z530 is available at a price tag of Rs. 6,999, while the Z630s is available at a slightly higher Rs. 9,999. Both phones come in Black colour, and are currently up for grabs with no flash sale model!

Bottom Line

While Acer continues its struggle as a developing smartphone brand, it’ll take a lot more than a few tempting phones to take on the likes of Lenovo, Xiaomi, Motorola and OnePlus. The Liquid series has given a good head start, but a lot has to come in next few years.

As for these two beauties, there is nothing that disappoints us. They perform smoothly, look good, and offer sufficient battery backup, which you don’t really get from every budget phone rolling in the market. In a nutshell, we can say, there is still room for improvement but at 7k and 10k, Acer has given a great package for standard buyers.
