On Wednesday Lava has launched its new budget smartphone in India, A79 available for sale at the price of Rs. 5,699. The highlighting feature of the smartphone is that it is an entertainment centric smartphone with a large 5.5 inch display and will be available in two color variants, Gold and Grey. Although the exact release date of the smartphone into the market has been announced by the company, the company said that the smartphone Lava A79 will be available for sale soon across all retail stores in India.
Coming to the specifications of the new A79, the smartphone comes with a dual SIM, runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core SoC paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone features a 5 MP rear camera with flash and a 2 MP front facing camera with flash.
The new Lava A79 is backed with a 2200mAh battery and has capacity of 8 GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 32 GB through the micro SD card slot. The smartphone comes with standard connectivity options, and also 3G.
The company is also flaunting about the Smart Screenshot feature of the smartphone through which user will be able to take a screenshot of the entire page viewing, instead of just what’s visible on the display.
This new budget smartphone from Lava joins its other A series budget smartphones A72, A76 and A89. The home grown company, Lava has recently introduced two of its other budget smartphones the A72 and A76 in India, which are priced at Rs. 6,499 and Rs 5,699 respectively.
Both these two smartphones are powered by the 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and run on Android 5.1 Lollipop. While the A76 has a 4.5-inch screen and is backed by a 1,850mAh battery, the A72 comes with a 5 inch screen and is backed by a 2,500mAh battery.
